Potty Training Tips for School-Bound Kiddos

Embarking on the potty training journey is like gearing up for school – it’s a big step towards independence! While it might seem a bit overwhelming, using the right strategies can make this adventure much smoother for both kids and their parents.

Every child development process is a journey. Keep things predictable when potty training. Just like following a school schedule, having a consistent routine for potty breaks is super helpful. Remind yourself to use the bathroom during specific times, like after meals or before playtime.

Celebrate every triumph. Getting praised and rewarded for using the potty encourages children to keep up the behavior. We also deploy celebrations in our daycare in Detroit, Michigan to encourage positive actions.

It is also important to pick the cool tools. Parents nowadays can pick a comfy potty or a special seat for the regular toilet can make potty time less scary. Wearing clothes that are easy to take off makes potty time much easier.

When accidents happen, remember that nobody is perfect. Stay calm and remember that practice makes perfect. Teach the child to speak up. Help them get over the shyness to tell teachers when they need to go. Communication is key and we encourage this in our preschool in Michigan.

When your child is ready to go by themselves, there open doors to many opportunities. For example, they can freely enjoy a summer camp where they can meet new friends.
